Military Widows Empowerment Outreach held in Mambilla Barracks, Abuja.
Women Empowerment Program
To address some of the problems widows and their children face, Gracelink Foundation visited the wives of late military personnel at Mambilla Barracks in Abuja. The outreach goal was to identify the challenges and needs of these widows, whose husbands lost their lives in the course of fighting the insurgence in North-East Nigeria. We empowered them through coaching, skills acquisition training, providing start-up capital, and distributing food items to meet their immediate feeding needs. We also offered psychosocial support as needed.
At the end of the outreach, all the fifty-six (56) widows present were given food items such as beverages, cereal, oil, and foodstuffs. The outreach gave the widows relief and hope, and they left with smiles and joy.
Testimonial: “Thank you, GraceLink Foundation, you don’t know what you have done for us today. I was in my room crying and thinking of what my children and I will eat today before someone came to call me that there is a program going on for widows. Thank you, thank you’’. May God continue to bless you all.
